ROCKY HILL — Another night, another sweep for the unbeaten Maloney girls volleyball team.
Gracey Massicotte served and set the 6-0 Spartans to their latest triumph, a 25-13, 25-14, 25-9 CCC sweep of Rocky Hill on Thursday.
Massicotte landed 11 aces and dished 17 assists.
Savannah Bernabucci and Xarianna Perez were the prime recipients. Bernabucci buried nine kills. Perez had five.
Cheshire 3, Amity 1: In a battle of 5-0 SCC teams in Woodbridge, it was the Rams who remained unbeaten.
Amity grabbed the opening game 26-24. Then it was all Cheshire, by a count of 25-12, 25-12 and 25-13.
Sarah Holley’s 24 assists had the Rams on track.
Alenna Zebarth and Avery Mola put down seven kills apiece. Rileigh Erickson and Elena Lilback had six each. Hannah Portal added five.
Tori Santi paced the defense with 13 digs.
Farmington 3, Southington 1: The Blue Knights took the opening game of this CCC matchup in Farmington 25-22 before the host Indians stormed back 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22.
Farmington evened its mark at 3-3 while knocking the Knights to 2-4.
Rachel Possidento had a strong night for Southingtonon offense with eight kills and five aces. Gabrielle Ferreira added seven kills and a pair of aces. Kayli Garcia had six kills.
On defense, Kaley Smith delivered 22 digs and Morgan Birdsey had 18. Victoria Zajda had nine to go along with 24 assists. Haley Weiner dished out 16 assists.Cross country
Wilcox Tech: The Indians swept Cheney Tech (20-35) and Vinal Tech (15-50) in a CTC tri-meet at Hubbard Park to up their unbeaten mark to 7-0.
Josh Santiago and Luke Frommelt went 1-2 to lead the way for Wilcox.Boys soccer
Platt 3, Bulkeley 1: Goals by Ever Aleman, Anthony Buscemi and Diego Chavez carried the Panthers to the CCC victory over the Bulldogs at Dillon Stadium.
Derek Campoverde assisted on the goal by Aleman.
Bulkeley scored on a peanlty kick. Josiah McLeish had the victory in net.
Platt is now 2-4, Bulkeley 0-5.
Wilcox Tech 3, Goodwin Tech 0: The Indians posted their second CTC shutout of the week at Falcon Field behind a 15-save effort from Gio Battista.
Krystian Colbert scored two goals for Wilcox. Angel Gavilanes also strummed the strings.
The Tribe improved to 3-2 while handing Goodwin (2-1-1) its first defeat.
Farmington 4, Southington 1: A strong second half at Tunxis Mead was undone by a tentative start as the Blue Knights dropped the CCC decision in Farmington.
Cole Marek pulled Southington to within 2-1 in the opening minutes of the second half with a zig-zagging solo run that beat the Farmington defense and goalkeeper. Cooper Burdette bid for the equalizer, but his header off a free kick from Trevor Sousa was thwarted.
The Indians eventually put the game away with two more goals in the final seven minutes.
Southington goalie Ryan Lunn made five saves on nine Farmington shots. Farmington’s Josh Wagor had three stops on four Southington attempts.
The Blue Knights are now 1-3-1. The game was the season opener for Farmington.
Cheshire 3, Notre Dame-West Haven 1: Samir Dishnica and Max Manware set each other up for goals and Dishnica delivered another dagger by converting a penalty kick is the Rams’ SCC triumph in Cheshire.
Dishnica scored both of his goals in the first half as Cheshire built a 2-0 lead. His corner kick with 28:20 left in the game was headed home by Manware to extend the lead to 3-0.
Shane Byrne scored for ND with just over eight minutes remaining.
Matt Pisani (2 saves) and Andres Diosa saw action in net for Cheshire (3-1-1). The tandem of Zack Benson and Matt Tobin had 3 saves for the Green Knights (0-3-1).Girls soccer
Rocky Hill 1, Maloney 0: The Terriers turned the tables on the Spartans in Meriden, avenging a 3-0 victory Maloney had scored in Rocky Hill on Oct 3.
Mia Valente had the goal for the Rocky Hill (2-4). Abby Lespier recorded six saves for Maloney (2-3-1).

Cheshire 7, Lyman Hall 0: The Rams built a 5-0 halftime lead in this SCC game in Wallingford behind two goals from Raegan Bailey and three assists from Emily Curtis.
Lauren Houle added a goal and two assists, while Sophie Vagts scored one and set up another as Cheshire improved to 5-0.
Taylor Warburton, Gigi Ronaldo and Ellen Barto also scored for the Rams. Leah Black contributed an assist.
Hannah Jalowiec and Elise Hurlburt split time in the Cheshire cage. Leah Herpok had 17 saves at the other end for Lyman Hall (0-4-0-1).
