FOOTBALL: ‘United’ front denies Wilcox Tech at Mustang Valley

DANBURY — Abbott Tech/Immaculate scored four unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to extend a 22-12 halftime lead and defeat Wilcox Tech 50-20 Friday night in a Connecticut Technical Conference football game at Immaculate’s Mustang Valley.

The loss was the fourth straight for Wilcox (2-4) after a 2-0 start to the season. The Danbury co-op improved to 4-2.

Wilcox running back Devario rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries.

Quarterback Derek Gendreau was 8-for-14 for 63 yards, with two interceptions and a 1-yard touchdown toss to Jacob Schwall.

Defensively, the Indians were led by linebacker Mike Mysatyukow, who made nine tackles.

The Tribe returns to Falcon Field for a game next Saturday night against Prince Tech.
