YALE 89, HOWARD 75
WASHINGTON (AP)— Paul Atkinson had 21 points as Yale beat Howard 89-75 on Monday for their school-record 12th nonconference regular-season victory.
Matthue Cotton had 15 points for Yale (13-4), which has won 11 of its last 12 games. Azar Swain added 12 points, and Jordan Bruner had 10 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.
Bruner was named the Ivy League player of the week earlier on Monday. He leads the league in rebounding and was 7 of 12 as the Bulldogs knocked off Brown for their seventh straight league opener.
Kyle Foster had 19 points for the Bison (2-18), who have now lost eight games in a row. Charles Williams added 16 points and Wayne Bristol Jr. had 14 points.
Yale plays Brown on the road on Friday. Howard faces Florida A&M at home on Saturday.
FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON 83, CCSU 60
TEANECK, N.J. (AP) — Xzavier Malone-Key had 23 points as Fairleigh Dickinson routed Central Connecticut 83-60 on Monday.
Jahlil Jenkins had 16 points for Fairleigh Dickinson (4-13, 2-4 Northeast Conference). Brandon Powell added 13 points and eight rebounds, and Elyjah Williams had 13 rebounds.
The Knights registered their best shooting performance of the season, shooting 53.4% overall, including 11 of 22 from 3-point range.
Xavier Wilson had 12 points for the Blue Devils (1-19, 0-7), whose losing streak stretched to seven games. Ian Krishnan added 11 points and Myles Baker had 10. Greg Outlaw, who led the Blue Devils in scoring coming into the contest with 10 points per game, was held to four points.
Fairleigh Dickinson matches up against Merrimack on the road on Thursday. Central Connecticut matches up against Sacred Heart at home on Thursday.
ROBERT MORRIS 67, SACRED HEART 55
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — AJ Bramah set career highs with 18 points and 20 rebounds, tying his school’s single-game rebound record, and Robert Morris beat Sacred Heart 67-55 on Monday.
Bramah tied the 20 rebounds Mike Morton made against Baltimore on Jan. 12, 1980.
Sayveon McEwen had 12 points for Robert Morris (9-10, 5-1 Northeast Conference). Dante Treacy added three steals and six assists.
Sacred Heart scored 25 points in the first half, a season low for the team.
E.J. Anosike had 20 points and 17 rebounds for the Pioneers (10-9, 3-3). Aaron Clarke added 16 points.
Robert Morris plays St. Francis (NY) on the road on Thursday. Sacred Heart plays Central Connecticut on the road on Thursday.
