CHESHIRE — With smoke from the Canadian wildfires persisting, Thursday’s CIAC postponed state tournament events, already rescheduled from Wednesday, have again been postponed.
Now it’s a domino effect. With lacrosse semifinals pushing to Friday, the championship games at Sacred Heart University will be played Sunday
Also, the semifinals have been moved from neutral sites to the home fields of the higher seeds.
Locally, that means top-seeded Cheshire (17-3) will host No. 4 Guilford (10-8) on Friday at 6 p.m., the same time the Cheshire boys volleyball team takes the court at Sport & Medical Sciences Academy to face Masuk in the Class M state championship game.
Here’s the way Championship Weekend now shapes up for the remaining local teams and athletes.
