AROUND THE HORN: Sheehan-New Milford hockey showdown postponed to Monday; date change for Meriden Sports Reunion; coaching shift for Cheshire track

WALLINGFORD — With snow in the forecast, Saturday’s Division III ice hockey showdown between Sheehan and New Milford has been postponed to Monday.

Same place: Choate’s Remsen Arena. Same time: 1 p.m.

The game will pit the 6-1-1 Titans, the No. 1 team in the CIAC Division III playoff rankings, against the 5-2-1 Green Wave, which stands at No. 3.

New Milford had been at No. 2 before falling 1-0 on Wednesday night to Newington, a result that propelled the 6-1-0 Indians into the No. 2 slot behind Sheehan.

Newington and Sheehan do not meet during the regular season. Monday’s game marks the lone collision between New Milford and Sheehan.

Also lurking in the D-III mix: Hall-Southington. The Warrior Knights rank No. 4 at 6-2-0. They visit the Titans at Choate on Feb. 17.
