Game 1 (Sept. 10): Sheehan 49, East Haven 6
Led by senior running back Jacob Shook’s 124 yards and three touchdowns, the Titans had all 49 points on the board by halftime. Jelan Kollie added 73 yards on just three carries. Sophomore Paul Gorry made his debut at quarterback.
Game 2 (Sept. 24): New Fairfield 14, Sheehan 13
Paul Gorry threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Shook as time expired in New Fairfield. The Titans opted to go for the win, but were stopped on the two-point try. Gorry (15-for-31, 167) threw a 24-yard TD pass to John Gogliettino in the third quarter to break a scoreless tie. New Fairfield rallied with a pair of fourth-quarter scores before Sheehan’s late dramatics.
Game 3 (Oct. 1): Sheehan 32, Weston 14
Jacob Shook ran for 213 yards and two TDs, while Paul Gorry completed 12 of 18 passes for 215 yards in the Alliance victory in Wallingford. Weston hit on a 63-yard TD pass to close to within 19-14 in the fourth quater. The Titans iced it on TD runs by Shook and Jelan Kollie.
Game 4 (Oct. 8): Daniel Hand 49, Sheehan 6
Jelan Kollie had the lone touchdown for the Titans in the SCC crossover against the Tier 1 Tigers at the Surf Club.Sheehan was limited to 66 yards rushing. Paul Gorry did complete 20 of 30 passes for 136 yards, with seven going to John Cotter and five to Ryan Gersz.
Game 5 (Oct. 15): Sheehan 15, Amity 13 (OT)
Both the Titans and Spartans scored on their first possession of overtime, but only Sheehan converted on the two-point try in this SCC Tier 2 tussle at Riccitelli. Jacob Shook rushed for the TD and the pivotal two points for the Titans, who saw QB Paul Gorry go down with an injury. Defensively, the Titans turned Amity over on downs four times and John Cotter picked off a pass.
Game 6 (Oct. 22): Sheehan 41, Harding 6
The Presidents drew even at 6-all midway through the second quarter in this SCC Tier 2 game in Bridgeport. It didn’t last long. John Cotter returned the ensuing kick 85 yards and it sparked a run of 35 unanswered points for the Titans. Jacob Shook, Jelan Kollie and Romeo Cruz ran for scores. Dominic DiNuzzo stepped in for injured QB Paul Gorry and completed 10 of 15 passes for 169 yards and TDs to Cotter and John Gogliettino.
Game 7 (Oct. 29): Sheehan 45, Hillhouse 8
Jacob Shook had a monster game with 304 yards and four TDs, and the Titans successfully squibbed two kickoffs, including the game-opener, in posting their third straight SCC Tier 2 win. With Jelan Kollie running for a TD and 123 yards, Sheehan piled up 413 rushing yards. Dom DiNuzzo threw a TD pass to Ryan Gersz. John Cotter had an INT.
Game 8 (Nov. 5): Hamden 41, Sheehan 7
The Titans got out to a 7-0 lead when Dom DiNuzzo threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Gersz on the game’s opening drive, but that was it. In a game that settled the SCC Tier 2 title, host Hamden handed Sheehan it’s most one-sided loss since 2016.
Game 9 (Nov. 12): Sheehan 54, Hartford Public 0
This game was the last in the career of Hartford Public coach Harry Bellucci, who was a mentor to Sheehan coach John Ferrazzi, so there was warm drama on the sidelines. Not so much between the lines. The Titans raced to a 41-0 halftime lead to remain in Class S contention at 6-3. Jacob Shook and Ryan Gersz scored three TDs apiece.
