BHS students show off their business acumen
at DECA conference

The Berlin High School Business DECA chapter recently participated in its second Connecticut DECA State Conference. And for the second year in a row, the students of BHS proved to be dynamic business competitors.

The 23 members from BHS participated in events that allowed them to showcase their business knowledge in a competitive business atmosphere.

Hannah Smolicz placed second for her advertising campaign designed for a local Berlin business; Gabriella Pattavina and Angella Perrelli placed fourth for their sports & entertainment team decision-making event; and Briana Muller was awarded a $500 Connecticut DECA Scholarship. The winners, along with Claudia Zovich, BHS DECA president, will represent Berlin High School on the national level at the DECA International Career Conference in Anaheim.

To make a donation to the BHS DECA chapter to help fund the program and those attending nationals, contact Marisa Wischert or Robert Parisi at 860-828-6577. Checks will be accepted and can be mailed directly to Berlin High School, 139 Patterson Way, Berlin, CT 06037. Please make checks payable to BHS (write DECA Donation in the memo field). In addition, include your contact information and mailing address for a receipt.
