NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison for distributing heroin linked to an overdose death.
Twenty-nine-year-old Ryan Russow of Milford was sentenced Monday in New Haven to five years and five months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
Prosecutors say another Milford man died from a heroin overdose on March 12 and in his room police found empty heroin bags that had the same stamp as those sold earlier in the day by Russow.
Russow was arrested in April. He pleaded guilty in December to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin.
Authorities say he had been obtaining heroin from a source in New Haven and distributing it out of his home for several months.
