MERIDEN — Firefighters extinguished a car fire at Lourdes Court Tuesday afternoon, the department said.
Crews responded to 30 Lourdes Court shortly after 3 p.m., according to the fire department. The driver of the vehicle was traveling on a highway when she heard a grinding sound and saw smoke coming from the car, according to deputy fire marshal John Yacovino. Upon arrival at Lourdes Court, she got out of the vehicle just before the engine caught on fire.
The car fire was away from a building and resulted in no injuries.
