Meriden 6 year old seriously injured in North Haven rollover



MERIDEN — A 6-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Sunday after being thrown from a truck during a rollover crash on Interstate 91 in North Haven.

A woman and two other children were hospitalized with reported minor injuries.

A 2000 Toyota Tundra SUV traveling south on I-91 near Exit 12 slid into the center median and rolled over numerous times before coming to rest on the northbound side of the highway at about 8:30 a.m., according to state police.

Six-year-old Noah McCoy, of Meriden, was ejected during the crash. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The child was not wearing a seat belt, state police said.

The driver of the car, Lexsis Ariel Walters, 23, of Meriden, was also hospitalized with minor injuries along with Jayden Hutchinson, 11 and Elijah McCoy, 13, of Meriden. They were all wearing seat belts, state police said.

The crash is under investigation.
