Energize Connecticut family fun

The Energize Connecticut Center, 122 Universal Drive North, has scheduled a family-friendly event where children and parents become “Clean Energy Champions” for Friday, July 21, 2 to 4 p.m. The free program explores wind power and how we can use it.

Speaker Brian Driscoll, of Phoenix Press, plans to discuss how he uses wind turbines to power his commercial printing business. Additionally, Little Scientist, LLC., along with center staff, plan hands-on wind-related activities and experiments, such as:

· Building a model wind turbine

· Experimenting with green-powered circuits

· Making pinwheels

The Energize Connecticut Center’s family programming is designed to provide entertainment for children of all ages and their families while simultaneously educating them on the impact our energy consumption has on the planet, and ways to be more energy efficient.
