83rd District House Candidates

Catherine Abercrombie*

Party: Democratic
Age: 59
Occupation: Full-time legislator
Education: Some college
Platform: I believe going into the next legislative session I am the most qualified candidate to help Connecticut recover from the economic challenges we will face because of COVID. We have over $3 billion in our reserve fund. JOBS, JOBS, JOBS will be my top priority. Growing small businesses is how our economy grows. Common sense fiscal reforms I supported in 2017 have put Connecticut on a more stable fiscal path. We have to make college affordable.
Other: Has served seven terms in 83rd District. Co-chair of the legislature’s Human Services Committee. Board member of Beat the Street Community Center in Meriden, the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA, Child Guidance of Meriden, and the Berlin Education Council.
